Nations Board and Professional Handball Board convened at the EHF Office on 7 and 8 October 2013
 

Boards meet in Vienna

Members of the EHF Nations Board were joined by the EHF President, Jean Brihault, and members of the EHF office on Monday, 7 October 2013 as they discussed a range of issues including the proposals from the EHF EURO Task Force for the future development of the product.

The Nations Board comprising Morten Stig Christensen Chairman (DEN), Philippe Bana, Vice Chairman (FRA), Heiner Brand (GER), Marek Góralczyk (POL) and Martin Simonides (SVK) was joined for the first time by Arsene Welter from Luxembourg a newly co-opted member to the Board following the departure of Lúcás Ó’Ceallacháin (IRL) from handball earlier in the year.

A meeting of the Professional Handball Board was held on Tuesday, 8 October under the chairmanship of Forum Club Handball representative, Joan Marin, with the EHF represented by Jean Brihault, Arne Elovsson and Ralf Dejaco from the EHF Executive and Michael Wiederer, EHF Secretary General.

A new face to the meeting was Peter Gentzel, former goalkeeper for the Swedish national team and winner of the EHF Champions League in 2009/10 with THW Kiel, as the representative for the European Professional Handball Leagues Association (EPHLA).

The Professional Handball Board discussed the proposals for the development of the EHF EURO competitions and also the EHF Champions League in the future. A positive exchange of ideas and opinions from the various organisations represented on the board took place. 

The Board comprises representatives of Forum Club Handball, the European Professional Handball Leagues Association, the European Handball Players’ Union, EHF Nations Board and the EHF.
