Become a young reporter at the 2014 European Handball Championship in Denmark

The 2014 Men’s EHF EURO will take place from 12 to 26 January 2014 in Denmark across four venues in Herning, Aarhus, Aalborg and Copenhagen.

On this occasion the European Handball Federation’s Media and Communications Department for the first time establishes a young reporters’ programme to work alongside the EHF Media Team in Denmark.

The programme's main facts:

  • The EHF Young Reporters’  team will consist of eight journalists overall with pairs of two being assigned to one of the four competition venues
  • Online media training will be provided in the lead-up to the event and a workshop with all selected candidates will be held in Denmark prior to the EHF EURO
  • The young reporters will interview players after the matches. They will cover press conferences and they will get the opportunity to write stories. Their work will be published on the event’s official website, www.ehf-euro.com, and on www.eurohandball.com
  • The working and writing language will be English. Candidates are therefore required to have a proficient level of written as well as spoken English.
  •  Candidates will be between 18 and 25 and will, preferably, already have some experience working in the media. Each candidate must submit a CV and a short motivational essay in English (approx. 500 words). Strong supporting references and evidence of published work will be an advantage.
  • Applications have to be submitted by email to the EHF Media and Communications Department who is responsible for choosing the candidates
  • The EHF will provide the selected candidates with full media accreditation for the duration of their work at the European Championship. They will receive meals and will be supplied with event clothing.

The deadline for applications is 15 October 2013. CV and motivational letter are to be sent to media@eurohandball.com
