EHF honours contribution of female head coaches

In a new initiative taken by the European Handball Federation's Women's Handball Board to further develop women's handball in Europe, four female national team head coaches were formally recognised on the final day (25 August) of the Women's 17 EHF EURO in Poland.

EHF Vice President Arne Elovsson awarded Maja Savic (Montenegro), Sandra Fernandes (Portugal), Vesna Miletic (Croatia) and Jeanette Nielsen (Norway) a small gift because they led their respective teams through the qualification and the final tournament.

In addition the EHF will provide a monetary award to the national federations of these four head coaches.

The Women's Handball Board's ultimate aim is to support and strengthen women's handball and to promote female leadership in handball.

In another board initiative seven female national team head coaches were invited to participate 2013 EHF Youth Coaches Course from 18 to 21 August.
