Champions get back to work

Women's EHF Champions League 2012/13 winners Györ begin preparation for the new season.

Györi Audi ETO KC’s players had a month and a half month break in the summer and they have made the most of it.

Most of them took a rest by the sea, with Orsolya Herr spending her time in Zadar, Croatia and Dóra Hornyák on the island of Pag, Croatia.

Adrienn Orbán was at the "Volt Music Festival" in Sopron, Hungary and it was a special summer for Eduarda Amorim, who had her wedding, followed by a honeymoon trip to the Maldives and the Greek islands.

However, with the holidays over, the hard work begins. The team spent the last week focusing on physical training before getting back to ball sessions.

Coach Ambros Martín has been planning the preparation of the title holders over the summer, while relaxing on the island of Lanzarote, where he organised a week long training camp for his squad.

The Norwegian national team will also visit Győr for a week of training.

"As we don't have the same number of players, our primary target is to have technical consultations with the Norwegian staff, not to have common trainings.

“We will coordinate the methods and exchange our ideas. We will also train each other's squad, and then play a preparation match on 27 July," said Martín.

Györi Audi ETO KC pre-season schedule:

18 to 22 July - physical measurement, then preparatory trainings
22 to 29 July - preparing with the Norwegian NT (in Győr)
27 July - preparation match against Norway (in Győr)
29 July to 5 August - training camp in Lanzarote, Spain
10 August - preparation match against Siófok (in Siófok)
14 August - preparation match against Veszprém (in Veszprém)
16 to 17 August: preparation matches against Érd (in Érd)
23 to 25 August: PwC Handball Fiesta preparation tournament against Krim, Vardar, Metz, Leipzig and Rostov (in Győr)
