The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision on two Men's Challenge Cup following disciplinary proceedings.
 

Esch and Suceava fined

The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision in the case concerning the incident which took place after the final whistle of the 2012/13 Men’s Challenge Cup Semi-final (2nd leg): Handball Esch (LUX) vs. C.S.U Suceava (ROU).

While the home team was celebrating their victory and qualification for the final, a Romanian fan entered the playing court, hit an EHF referee and pushed the EHF delegate.

Handball Esch, as the organiser of the match, shall pay a fine of €2,500 (€1,000 being imposed on a suspended basis with a probation period of two years) for failure to maintain the good order, safety and security after the match pursuant to their obligation stated in articles 1 § 6 of the EHF Rules on Safety and Security Procedure and 8.1.15 of the 2012/13 European Cup Regulations.

C.S.U Suceava, shall pay a fine of €4,000 (€1,500 being imposed on a suspended basis with a probation period of two years) since clubs are responsible for the conduct of their supporters pursuant to articles 8.1.13 of the 2012/13 EHF European Cup Regulations and 2.2 of the EHF Legal Regulations.

The fines applied according to articles b.4 of the EHF List of Penalties as well as 5 and 7 of the Catalogue of Penalties related to the EHF Rules on Safety and Security procedure.

An appeal to the EHF Court of Appeal may be lodged by the clubs within seven days.
