Auction in aid of HANDBALL HELPS! achieves proud results

the charity auction run by the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe) On behalf of HANDBALL HELPS! gave handball fans the chance to bid for memorabilia from the VELUX EHF FINAL4 on the online marketplace eBay. The auction ran for 10 days until Sunday, 16 June and the overall amount raised from the auction was a brilliant 5,167.62 euro.

The items up for bidding were signed match shirts from the participating teams, the original match ball from the trilling final between HSV Hamburg and FC Barcelona Intersport, tournament flags and signed copies of Thierry Omeyer’s biography.

The highest single bid was 1,510 euro for the final match ball of the VELUX EHF FINAL4. The unique piece will be personally presented to the winning bidder by a representative of HSV Hamburg at a home game in the O2 World.

Another bidder secured themself three signed match shirts for a single bid of 855.53 euro.

The entire proceeds will go towards the German Cancer Aid, the charity partner of the VELUX EHF FINAL4

About the German cancer aid

The German cancer aid has been working for over 38 years for cancer patients. Each year more than 490,000 people in Germany, including 1,800 children and adolescents under 15 years old, are diagnosed with cancer.

To help the victims and their families is the most important concern of the German cancer aid. Adhering to the motto "Help. Research. Inform." the organisation promotes projects to improve the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, medical care, and mental health care, including cancer support. They are an advocate for cancer patients and work towards ensuring that patients in Germany receive the best of care.
