Talant's son among Atlético's summer signings

The off-season is proving to be a particularly busy one for Atlético Madrid, with a large number of transfers in and out of the club.

So far Ángel Romero, Josep Masachs, Álvaro Ferrer, Magnus Dahl, Roberto Parrondo, Kiril Lazarov and Adnan Sabanovic are leaving the club.

On the other hand, six new players are to join the club for next season, as officially announced by the club.

The first newcomer is Alex Dujshebaev, who has signed for two seasons. Top scorer of the Spanish Asobal League this last season (198 goals), will wear number 10 on his shirt. Son of the current coach Talant, he is said to be one of most promising and talented young players in Spain. Alex is 189 cms, 92 kilos and is left handed.

He has the vision of a playmaker, the shooting of a right back and the speed of a wing. Alex also holds this season’s Asobal record for scoring 13 goals in a single match (Aragón-Valladolid).

Also an important player in the younger age categories of the Spanish national team, he is off this July to Bosnia to take part in the Junior World Championship.

Dujshebaev has already been Junior European Champion in 2012 and named as best right back in that tournament. He also won silver at the 2011 Youth World Championship and U18 European Championship.

“It is a big step in my career, as I will be in a team where you are expected to fight for all the different tournaments you play.

“I did not have to think too much about it. You always have different offers but once At. Madrid calls you, it is a very important club in Spain and in Europe, they play in the Champions League.

“There are many powerful teams all across Europe, being out there against them will be awesome,” said Dujshebaev at his presentation.

When the question related to a comparison with his father and now coach, he was quick to point out the differences

“Although the number (10) and the name on the shirt will be the same, there are more differences than similarities. He was a right handed (playmaker) and I am a left hander (right back).

“We will try to be as natural as possible and see what happens,” concluded Dujshebaev.

Victor Alonso is the second player coming to At. Madrid. The 23 year old winger is coming from Valladolid and will wear number 73, honouring his idol Stefan Kretzschmar.

Alonso considers himself a physical, fast player, with a good jump and the ability to run the fastbreak.

Centre back Víctor Vigo is also arriving from BM Aragón, he is 29 years old, Víctor does not only show good skills as a playmaker, but is also a fine scorer, averaging 3,99 goals per match last season (119 goals).

Pivot Alberto Val is returning from Romanian HCM Constanta, the team where he won the Romanian cup this year. At 208 cm and 95 kilos, the 27-year-old player will be a valuable addition to the already strong line position with Julen Aginagalde as first choice.

Goalkeeper Iñaki Malumbres has also joined the club. The 37 year old has a wide experience in Asobal League, where he’s played for Ademar de León, BM. Aragón, JD Arrate, San Antonio, Valladolid.

Pedro Rodríguez will return to the club for the upcoming season after his loan spell with Naturhouse La Rioja.
