World champions take an easy victory against Switzerland which finish their EHF EURO 2014 qualification campaign without any win
With sixth win, Spain keep their clear record
Group 1: Spain vs. Switzerland 29:16 (13:6)
Without their head coach Goran Perkovac, who missed the final qualification match for the EHF EURO 2014 due to illness, Switzerland were without a chance against Spain in Leon.
Spain had qualified for the final tournament already at an earlier stage, while Switzerland had no chance to progress even before the match.
By scoring only six goals in the first half, the visiting team was already behind by seven goals after thirty minutes.
Spain had taken control very early and were backed by their strong defence.
In the second match under new coach Manuel Cadenas the hosts had no problems taking home a clear and easy victory.
All but one field players scored - with Raul Entrerrios and Antonio Garcia scoring four goals each - in an one-sided match.
Marco Kurth and Alen Milosevic were the best Swiss scorers with three goals each.
At 19:9 the gap was double-figured for the first time, only some minutes later the margin stood at 15 goals with the score being 26:11.
