"We Will Rock You" closes the 2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4

An impressive victory ceremony closed the 2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4 2013 in Cologne on Sunday evening.

After an enthralling fight between the two finallists FC Barcelona Intersport and HSV Handball, the Germans emerged as the winners of 2012/2013 VELUX EHF Champions League season.

While the teams were granted a few minutes to take stock of their emotions backstage, the playing court saw a great victory ceremony. All four ‘Voice of Germany’ participants – Ole Soul, Rob Fowler, Nathalie Dorra and Jenna Hoff – started the party with a perfect rendition of the Queen classic ‘We Will Rock You’ before Barcelona were awarded their second place medals by EHF President Jean Brihault, EHF Vice President Arne Elovsson and EHF General Secretary Michael Wiederer.

Hans Lindberg was then awarded best scorer of the season with the 'Golden Ball' from adidas.

Then, to the sounds of 'We Are The Champions', 20,000 frenetic spectators saw the trophy enter the arena and then presented to Hamburg team captain Pascal Hens by Brihault, perfectly aligned to the refrain of the song, complete with sprayed champagne and confetti fountains.

Hamburg then danced their way around the court and into history as the 2012/13 VELUX EHF Champions League winners.
