Pre-match entertainment throws-off handball spectacular

Fans inside the LANXESS arena, and those watching online and on TV around the world were treated to two amazing pre-match shows.

Before the games fans were treated to singers Ole Soul and Nathalie Dorra who covered 'Let Me Entertain You' by Robbie Williams and 'Simply the Best' by Tina Turner respectively who were performing on the special 'Flying Stage' - the first-time ever this has been used in a handball event.

The arena came alive with gymnastic artists descending from the ceiling, laser shows, fire, music pumping throughout and the VELUX EHF Champions League trophy and new adidas ball presented to the 19,750 fans inside.

"They were really cool," said Maike from Frankfurt, Germany about the shows. "Me and my friends were really impressed and it was a great way to start the weekend - we can't wait to see the shows on Sunday."
