Fan action around the LANXESS arena

All around the LANXESS arena, fans can take part in different activities offered by the various VELUX EHF FINAL4 partners.

VELUX

Title sponsor VELUX have introduced the RoboKeeper this year, the world’s fastest goalkeeper which is a robot, controlled by cameras which can 'see' where you are shooting.

"You just need to tee it up, or slowly roll it,” explains Michael (8) on how to beat it. But it is not that simple, as shot by shot he fails and with an 85% success rate in saves, RoboKeeper is in good form.

The former handball professional Lars Christiansen, this year’s VELUX ambassador, did not compete up to now. “I will definitely give it a try - penalty shoots against Omeyer were always fun.”

Jack & Jones

Jack & Jones have built up a Bungee Penalty shooting. Two fans compete against each other. They both got five shots and the one with the most goals wins a Jack & Jones t-shirt. "We want the brand to become more popular and we want the fans to have fun", says the Jack & Jones staff present.

THW Kiel fan Lukas is excited: "It's really funny, but I'm a little tired now. My opponent was older and we drew. It's my first time in Cologne but it's really cool." Kielce fan Marcin agrees: "The game is real fun. I played against a Kiel fan and I won. I hope it will be the same in the arena."

Bet-at-Home

Bet-at-Home.com has been offering the possibility to train and register for their $100,000 SHOT. Three lucky fans will have the chance to shoot in the arena at 5:30pm every day and win the prize. Last year, about 150 people registered to give it a try.

“First try and I scored” Mario Lohmann from Münster said. “But in front of the crowd and the cameras, it will be different. I’m not even playing handball. In general, I like the fact that they offer a lot to entertain the children here. That makes it a great father-son experience.”

SHARP

Premium Partner SHARP has been presenting the newest models of touch and flat screens to the VELUX EHF FINAL4 fans. The person who is able to solve the memory game on the 80” model PLN702B the quickest, wins a 30” TV. “Here at the VELUX EHF FINAL4, the kids are fascinated about the memory game and the adults really like the presentation of the new techniques,” said the staff present.

Adidas

Adidas presented their virtual sales wall where fans could inform themselves about, and try on, the new 'Adipower Stabil 10.1' and 'Adizero feather pro 2'. They could even buy the shoes Filip Jicha and Aron Palmarsson wear before they go on sale in sport stores on Monday. Furthermore, adidas offers the possibility to “hand in for your team”, leaving a hand print in the colours of your team on a wall which will be auctioned after the event by EHF and adidas.

Qatar 2015

The next Men's World Championship host is also present outside the LANXESS arena in Cologne. 'Qatar 2015' have been offering packages that contain transport, accommodation and tickets for the matches and the state from the Middle East has been presenting information for tourists about itself and its people. Fans who need a new t-shirt have also been trying their luck by scoring in an accuracy shoot-out challenge.
