New medals for the new champions

The upcoming queens of European club handball will be awarded with a brand new set of gold medals at the winners' ceremony after the second leg of the Women's EHF Champions League Final in Veszprém on Saturday.

The European Handball Federation has produced new medals for both the winners and the runners-up. The medals have a diameter of 65 millimetres and showcase the new official logo of the EHF on the one side and the fifth element on the other.

EHF President Jean Brihault will hand over the medals together with the President of Hungarian handball federation, Iván Vetési, and the mayor of Győr, Zsolt Borkai.

Győr are three goals closer to their first European Cup trophy after they beat the 2011 EHF Champions League winners, Larvik, 24:21 in the first leg.

Before the medal ceremony the top scorer of the competition will be awarded with a golden adidas ball.

Zsuzsanna Tomori from FTC Rail Cargo Hungária is set to win the trophy as she leads by twenty goals ahead of Anita Görbicz from Győr and Linn Kristin Koren Riegelhuth from Larvik.
