EHF Cup quarter-finalists add further reinforcement to their team for next season.

Nyberg returns to Holstebro

After a year with Danish league colleagues Nordsjælland Håndbold who were relegated after this season, right back Morten Nyberg is returning to Team Tvis Holstebro, where he also played from 2010 to 2012. The 27-year-old left handed backcourt player is joining the current EHF Cup quarter-finalists on a one year contract.

“I know that the organisation is well in hand in TTH, and that I am going to play in a good team and get the wins that give self confidence,” Morten Nyberg told Team Tvis Holstebro´s website.

“I was happy to be in the club during my latest stay there, and I am looking forward to getting Klavs Bruun Jørgensen as coach. He is the kind of man who calls a spade a spade, and I have only heard good things about him from the players I know in TTH,” Nyberg added.

Recently, Team Tvis Holstebro announced the signing of Simon Birkefeldt from Aarhus Håndbold, also for the right back position, and head coach Klavs Bruun Jørgensen is looking forward to having two options for the position.

“First of all I am looking forward to having two natural right backs in Morten Nyberg and Simon Birkefeldt. This season we have only had one, and Mads Christiansen has really had to work hard, so two players who both shoot with the left from the distance is a large plus. I see Morten as well as Simon as players who have the potential to become national team players, and we are going to make a heavy pressure from the right side next season,” added Klavs Bruun Jørgensen, a former right back himself.

A further addition to the squad is right winger Mathias Bruzelius, who comes “home” from Norwegian club Haugaland.

In the EHF Cup quarter-finals this season, Team Tvis Holstebro are facing Danish league rivals KIF Kolding, the first leg being away on Sunday 21 April, with the second at home a week later.
