Procedure for the final draw for the Women's 17 EHF EURO

The final draw for the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2013 will take place in the ERGO Arena in the Polish city of Gdansk on 7 April 2013 on the fringes of the Men's EHF EURO 2014 qualification match between Poland and Sweden.

The official organisation agreement for the Women's 17 EHF EURO will also be signed by the Polish Handball Federation and the European Handball Federation on this occasion.

A live ticker for the draw will be available via the EHF's official website, eurohandball.com.

The event's official website, eurohandballpoland2013.pl, has also been launched and will continue to grow and evolve as the tournament approaches.

Following the qualification for this Younger Age Category event, which took place from 22 to 24 March 2013, 15 team qualified for the final tournament that will throw off on 15 August and conclude on 25 August 2013.

Hosts, Poland, are directly qualified, meaning that overall 16 teams will vie for the title.

The teams have been seeded as follows. Poland as the host nation will have the right to choose the group

  • Pot 1: Russia, Denmark, Norway, Portugal
  • Pot 2: France, Sweden, Romania, Germany
  • Pot 3: Poland, Hungary, Netherlands, Croatia
  • Pot 4: Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Montenegro

According to the draw procedures, in the first step the teams of pot 4 will be drawn to row 4.

In the second step the teams of pot are drawn to row 2, and in the third step the teams of pot 1 are drawn to row 1.

In the fourth and last step the teams in pot 3 will be drawn to row with the organiser, Poland, having the right to choose the groups after the rows 4,2, and 1 have been determined.
