Ticket sales for EHF Cup Finals skyrocketed

While six quarter-finalists of the EHF Cup are warming up for their clashes at the end of the April, the organisers of the EHF Cup Finals HBC Nantes can thoroughly plan their preparation for the final weekend on their own court as they already clinched the semi-final ticket in the group phase.

The French club had to wait until the last round, but as soon as they won at Besiktas Istanbul and Kolding lost at Prešov last Saturday, they could start celebrating the direct progress to the EHF Cup Finals.

“Everybody is very happy in Nantes because we are a new team on the European scene. Therefore the enthusiasm is big especially because we are going to be organising the event in our city,” the president of “H” club Gaël Pelletier said on Tuesday for eurohandball.com.

Pelletier also expressed a great deal of satisfaction with the outcome of the quarter-finals draw on Tuesday.

“For us it means we are going to see very good matches in Nantes at the EHF Cup Finals. We are going to see very good teams and we are going to have at least three different countries represented in the tournament. The public is very passionate and will play their part at this event,” Nantes president added.

The ticket sales for the EHF Cup Finals soar rapidly. Not fewer than 1700 tickets have been already sold, 1100 out of them since Saturday evening when Nantes directly qualified for the semi-final.

“The hall is going to be too small very soon and I’m afraid that in one or two days we might not have any tickets on sale,” Pelletier warned any still hesitating fans.

The EHF Cup Finals will take place on 18 and 19 May in Palais des Sports de Beaulieu with the capacity of 5000 spectators. The tournament will be played in the knockout format with two semi-finals on Saturday and the 3rd place match and the final on Sunday.
