Norwegian dissolved the contract with Montpellier, Serbian arrives, but he cannot play in the VELUX EHF Champions League
Mamelund returns to Haslum, Vilovski arrives
Initially linked with Montpellier until June 2014, Erlend Mamelund decided to dissolve his contract last week. Free to go where he wanted, the left back immediately signed with Haslum HK, where he began playing handball and where he was playing before his arrival to Montpellier last summer.
Norwegian international scored only five goals in the first seven rounds of the VELUX EHF Champions League and often spent entire games on the bench.
Before leaving the club, Erlend Mamelund thanked the club's fans.
"I want to thank all the fans for the warm welcome I've had, and all the support even through the hard times. I'll have good memories of playing in Montpellier," he said.
"We want to thank Erlend Mamelund for the work he's done for the team in the first part of the season. He's always been nice, with a perfect state of mind and welcoming to everybody," MAHB informed in the official statement.
But a good news brightened up a little bit the mood in the South France. Uroš Vilovski, the Serbian line player has finally been authorised to play for Montpellier, more than three months after signing his contract.
During this period, he kept training with the squad without being able to take part in competitions. Vilovski, 28 year-old, was on loan from Veszprém since the middle of october as he had close to no playing time there.
He already made his official debut with his new team last Friday in a French cup game in Valence (3rd division) as he scored two goals. But he will not be able to take part in VELUX EHF Champions League in the current season, since he already took part in the European topflight in one match with Veszprém.
