EHF Court of Handball disciplinary decision

The EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision in the case concerning the player Ionut Stefan Georgescu from the Romanian club CS Ştiinţa Municipal Dedeman Bacău.

The player received a direct disqualification with three minutes to play of the 2012/2013 Men’s EHF Cup Round 3 (Leg 2) match between Maccabi Srugo Rishon Lezion (ISR) and CS Ştiinţa Municipal Dedeman Bacău (ROU), which took place in Bacau, Romania on 25 November 2012.

The EHF Court of Handball found that the direct disqualification of Ionut Stefan Georgescu was an unsportsmanlike conduct deserving further sanction. A one match suspension is therefore imposed on the player, on the basis of article B.1 of the EHF List of Penalties.

An appeal to the EHF Court of Appeal may be lodged by the player and / or his club within seven days.
