The French club inked Hungarian international Gábor Császár from Veszprém
Paris sign another VELUX EHF Champions League star
Rumours have become reality. The Hungarian international Gábor Császár (28), has signed a two year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. After Igor Vori, Daniel Narcisse and Fahrudin Melić, he is the fourth recruit for Paris' team heading for the VELUX EHF Champions League in the next season.
After playing in Chambéry three years ago, this will be Császár´s second arrival in France. After going back to Veszprém two years ago, he chose to meet again with Philippe Gardent, who was his coach when he played for Chambéry.
Having left a very good impression then, he was one of Gardent's main target for next season. He will bring to the Paris squad his experience from the European club top flight, a competition that he has played for the last two years with record Hungarian champions.
The Hungarian player of the year 2012 scored over 400 goals in more than 150 caps with national team and is taking part in the World Championships in Spain.
"I know the competition will be tough, because there are a lot of awesome players in Paris at the moment, and there will be even more next year, but this will make me a better player.
The project in Paris was really tempting, and possibility to work again with Philippe Gardent persuaded me to sign for this club," Császár told L'Equipe.fr.
With one of the biggest budget in Europe, PSG look like they might be strong contenders for the VELUX EHF Final Four next year. They are well on the way to qualify for next edition, being five points ahead of Montpellier, the second team at the end of the first phase.
