EHF Referee Candidates course held in Switzerland

The eleventh EHF Referee Candidates course held by the EHF has been taking place between 12 and 16 December in Switzerland.

It was open to a maximum of four pairs and has been carried out in cooperation with the Swiss Handball Federation. At the same time and at the same venue the International Handball Federation (IHF) had invited six international pairs to participate in their Global-Referee-Training-Programm with parallel sessions.

EHF Candidates were appointed to referee games at the women's international level (BRühl Cup) and in the men's first division level in the Swiss Handball League.

The participating pairs included Mindaugas Mocevicius / Mahmut Emrah Sahin (GBR), Kjersti Arntsen / Guro Röen (NOR), Arthur Brunner / Morad Salah (SUI) and L. Murat Celik / Cengiz Ömer (TUR).

The presenters included

  • Antonio Goulao, former top IHF and EHF referee and EHF refereeing lecturer since 2010
  • Peter Hansson, former top IHF and EHF referee and EHF refereeing lecturer since 2008
  • Zoltan Marczinka, EHF coaching lecturer since 2004 amd author of the book "Playing handball"
  • Vladimir Rancik, former top IHF and EHF referee and EHF office staff member since 2009
  • Roland Bürgi (IHF guest speaker), specialist refereeing
