Tomašević wants a medal now

Every afternoon the European Handball Federation publishes a brief summary of the stories that have gone online on the EHF EURO 2012's dedicated website ehf-euro.com. This is the weekend's and Monday's summary.

The 2012 Women's EHF European Championship in Serbia (4 to 16 December) is just a week away and while the countdown to the throw-off continues to tick down, the number of stories on the host nation and the 16 participating teams steadily increases.


I want a medal now, Tomašević tells Serbia
While Serbia’s national team coach Saša Bošković and most of the players emphasized they would do well to advance into the EHF EURO 2012 Main Round and simply be in contention for a podium finish, goalkeeper Katarina Tomašević offered a somewhat different view on what the host nation should be aiming for at the upcoming tournament. Russia, a new team with new leaders
The forthcoming EHF EURO in Serbia is a turning point for the Russian national team. Two weeks after the failure at the London Olympics Russian handball union fired a living legend in Evgeny Trefilov, who is a four-time World champion, but failed to get any success in the EHF EURO 2010 in Denmark and the last World Championship in Brazil. Next major injury strikes for Germany
The German women’s team has been hit really hard by major injuries in their final steps of preparation ahead of the EHF EURO in Serbia.The German Federation announced this morning that Susann Müller is out for the season’s pinnacle with a torn meniscus in the right knee. Click here.
