Every afternoon the European Handball Federation publishes a brief summary of the stories that have gone online on the EHF EURO 2012's dedicated website ehf-euro.com in the past 24 hours.
The 2012 Women's EHF European Championship in Serbia (4 to 16 December) is just over two weeks away and while the countdown to the throw-off continues to tick down, the number of stories on the host nation and the 16 participating teams steadily increases.
Vítková: Positive present, positive future
Part 5 of the countdown to the Women's EHF EURO 2012 looks at the Czech Republic. It took eight years for the Czech women to once again qualify for an EHF EURO event, or any other major competition, after finishing 13th in Hungary in 2004. They are in a tough group with European, World, and Olympic champions Norway, hosts Serbia, and Ukraine. Click here
France take nothing for granted
France will go into the final preparations for the Women's EHF European Championship in Serbia with a majority of players who already were part of the squad at the London 2012 Olympic Games – however, coach Olivier Krumbholz had a few surprises up his sleeve. France will compete in the Golden League in Bergen, Norway this weekend. Click here.
The coach is the star
The sixth part of the EURO countdown focuses on the Ukranian women. With 74-year-old Leonid Ratner taking over as the Ukranian coach, they came first in impressive fashion in their qualification group for the 2012 Women’s EHF European Championship, winning five of their six matches against Spain, Iceland and Switzerland.
