Dedicated museum for the sport to be built north-west of Paris in 2016
Leg'Hand shows handball memorabilia
'Handball, a whole history' is the title of an exhibition that has been presented in October to the 84th General Assembly of the French Handball Federation by the organisation 'Leg'Hand'.
It was Leg'Hand's first ever exhibition of its extensive collection of handball memorabilia. The initiative was founded three years ago by former French international Bruno Martini and is supported, among others, by the European Handball Federation's president, Jean Brihault, and former French national team coach, Daniel Costantini.
The General Assembly was an opportunity for Leg'Hand to present their work and the results of their research, as it aims to collect objects that relate to handball and to tell the history and development as well as preserve the memory of the sport through exhibitions on various occasions.
Leg'Hand also took the opportunity at the General Assemly to meet and talk to several elected officials to discuss the further development of the organisation - one agreement between Leg'Hand and the French Handball Federation had already been signed during the Olympic qualification tournament in May 2012.
If all goes to plan, in 2016, a handball museum will see the light of day in the city of Colombes, north-west of Paris, in the future House of Handball.
