Struzik named interim Vistal Łączpol Gdynia coach
Assistant coach Adrian Struzik has stepped up to be interim head coach after Andrzej Niewrzawa’s contract at Vistal Łączpol Gdynia was terminated after just six matches.
At the end of September the Polish champions missed out on qualifying for the Women’s EHF Champions League, losing 22:26 (11:12) to Viborg HK in final of the Qualification Tournament.
“I have left Gdynia on good terms,” said Niewrzawa. “The decision to cancel my contract was a mutual decision, and the major cause of it was my personal problem. I kept the club informed throughout.”
Subsequently the board at Gdynia has announced an interim solution for the currently vacant position of coach of the Polish champions.
Former assistant coach Adrian Struzik will be responsible for the Polish club's preparation for matches in their domestic league and Women's Cup Winners' Cup where Vistal Łączpol Gdynia faces with HC Gomel from Belarus. Both legs of Round 3 match will be played in Hala Sportowo Widowiskowa in Gdynia over the weekend 17-18 November.
