Mojsovski will miss Switzerland, a doubt for Portugal

FYR Macedonia will start the EHF EURO 2014 qualification without two of their best players, injured back court player Naumce Mojsovski and suspended goalkeeper Borko Ristovski.

Head coach Zvonko Shundovski was prepared for the absence of Ristovski, though Naumce Mojsovski’s injury came as a surprise.

Mojovski will certainly miss the first game against Switzerland on Wednesday in Skopje, and is uncertain for the second match with Portugal on Sunday.

Mojsovski confirmed that he will miss the first game, stating “it is uncertain whether I will be fully prepared for Portugal.

“From today I have started with lighter training, although personally I do not feel any pain.”

Mojsovski’s club HC Metalurg expect him to be ready for their Group C clash in the VELUX EHF Champions League on November 18, against Kielce in Skopje.

Zvonko Shundovski named 21 players in the squad, with only Mojsovski failing to show for training.

Suspended Ristovski will travel with the team, but Petre Angelov and Nikola Mitrevski will be in the squad for the first match.

With the absence of Naumche Mojsovski in the centre back position, all eyes now lay on on Filip Mirkulovski.

FYR Macedonia are seeded in a group together with Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland. Only the top two teams qualify for the EHF EURO 2014 Championships in Denmark.
