Lublin and Izmir passed to Round 3, three national champions succeeded
Women´s Cup Winners´ Cup Round 2, first leg
Two teams secured berths in Round 3 of the Women´s Cup Winners´ Cup during the last weekend. Izmir BSB SK from Turkey and SPR Lublin from Poland joined the list of Round 3 participants after they used the home advantage in both legs of Round 2.
Asli Iskit scored 13 goals on Saturday as her team Izmir eliminated Switzerland´s Yellow Winterthur on aggregate score 69:57 (41:30, 28:27) and will face German TSV 04 Bayer Leverkusen in Round 3. The EHF Cup 2001 winners from Lublin recorded two wins (45:23 and 26:22) against Portugal´s ADA Colegio Joao de Barros and will meet Macedonian side WHC Metalurg.
First leg of Round 3 will be played 10-11 November, the second leg one week later.
In other matches three national title holders and unsuccessful qualifiers of the Women´s EHF Champions League succeeded. The Dutch club SERCODAK Dalfsen defeated SPE Strovolos in Nikosia, Cyprus 44:20, Turkey´s Muratpasa Belediyesi SK Antalya won against Croatia´s Lokomotiva Zagreb 34:28 and Iuventa Michalovce beat their rivals from the joint Slovak-Czech interleague Britterm Veselí nad Moravou 30:22.
