Viborg to enter the Women´s Champions League without the experienced line player from Norway
Frafjord out for four to six weeks
Viborg HK´s Norwegian line player Marit Malm Frafjord has sustained a shoulder injury which will keep her sidelined for four to six weeks.
Even though Frafjord´s shoulder injury is not as serious as the one that hit her team-mate in Viborg as well as in the Norwegian national team, Amanda Kurtovic shortly before the start of the season, the new trouble is severe enough for Viborg.
The 26 year old line player´s injury means that the Danish runners-up will be missing her in their first group matches of the Women´s EHF Champions League as well as in several important games in the Danish league.
“Obviously it is a severe handicap to us, and it does not make things any easier for us in a period with many important matches. Marit means a lot to us, not least in the defence, and she is not player you can replace just like that,” Viborg´s head coach Martin Albertsen told the club´s website.
“That being said, I still have a lot of belief in our team, and I expect the remaining players to move closer together, so that we can handle this challenge also!”, Albertsen added.
With Marit Malm Frafjord sidelined, Viborg´s only option on the circle will be Sabine Pedersen who joined the club from league rivals Aalborg DH before this season.
