Bošković picks team as Serbia prepare
Serbia women's handball coach Saša Bošković has named his provisional squad of 27 players for his squad's two test matches against Croatia on October 4 and 6 respectively in the town of Petrovac near Belgrade.
Both teams will be chasing their first medal in women’s handball as independent nations at the upcoming 16-nation event and the the double test matches will be a good test of their credentials for a podium finish.
While Serbia have a mountain to climb after finishing 14th at the EHF EURO 2010 in Denmark and Norway, Croatia will be confident of giving their fans much to cheer about following their impressive performances at the 2012 London Olympics at which they only went down to Spain in the quarter-final.
Serbia are in Group A alongside World, Olympic and European champions Norway, while Croatia are in Group C in Novi Sad with Spain, Germany and Hungary.
There were no surprises in Bošković’s squad as key players Andrea Lekić, Kristina Lišcević, Sanja Damnjanović and Jelena Erić made themselves available for the week-long build-up.
