Ireland prepare for EHF EURO 2016

The Irish national team will continue their preparations for their opening fixtures of phase 1 of the EHF EURO 2016 qualification phase this weekend (1-2 September) with a five-team tournament to be played at their new training base in Phibblestown near Dublin.

Ireland’s coach, Toni Gerona, youth coach with FC Barcelona has brought along his club’s second team to play in the event. They will also meet the Irish league champions, Dublin International, a  young side from English league winners, Salford H.C., and English cup winners, Great Dane, who are preparing for their first round EHF Cup clash with FIF Kolding Kobenhavn on 15 and 16 September 2012.

Further information can be found on the Irish Olympic Handball Association website. Follow the team’s progress on Twitter and Facebook.
