Icelandic international Arnor Atlason will be playing VELUX EHF Champions League in the coming season
AG captain joins Flensburg
Almost all the redundant players from bankrupt Danish champions AG København have found new employers.
The latest player to have found a new job is Icelandic international Arnor Atlason, who was captain in AG København and who extended his contract with Copenhagen based club shortly before it went bankrupt.
And Atlason can even stay in the VELUX EHF Champions League, as his new club is SG Flensburg Handewitt.
The experienced right-handed backcourt player has signed a one year contract with the North German club, where is seen as a replacement to long-term injured Petar Djordjic.
“We are very happy to have been able to attach a player who can help us in that situation so soon”, Flensburg´s director Dierk Schmäske told the club's website.
Before signing on for Flensburg, Atlason was linked with Danish EHF Cup participants Team Tvis Holstebro, but he ended by choosing Flensburg.
Norwegian goalkeeper Steinar Ege and Icelandic international, playmaker Snorri Gudjonsson are now the only former AG players who have not yet found a new place to play.
