HSV sign up young Serbian right back

Young Serbian right back, Stefan Terzić (18) is a new reinforcement for the German side HSV Hamburg.

The German champions of 2010/11 announced a three year deal with the Serbian Men's 18 national team player.

Terzić comes from RK Borac Banja Luka (BIH).

Terzić is currently competing with the national team at the Men’s 18 European Championship in Austria.

Terzić sought after by various big clubs

“I have had several offers from German teams, but I feel that HSV is a level above the others.
After talks with my manager and my mother, I decided that HSV is the best place for me," Terzić said.

“I will have world-class teammates, a great coach and will gain great experience. I had already had a warm welcome from my new team-mates, especially Croatians Duvnjak, Vori and Lacković," commented Terzić on his decision to join one of the biggest names in world handball.

Young Terzić does not feel inhibited by the other right-backs in the club in Polish Marcin Lijewski or by Swedish sharp shooter Oscar Carlén.

Carlen will return to the team next February.

"Until his comeback, I will be the second right back after Lijewski. I am sure that I will improve as a player and take my chance.

"This kind of opportunity you have once in your professional career," said Terzić.

Stefan Terzić began his handball career at the age of 13. After only two years in his hometown Arilje, he went to Borac Banja Luka, where he spent the two and a half years. He spent last season on loan at Bosnian RK Prijedor.

Fifth in the German Bundesliga, HSV Handball will have a chance to qualify for the VELUX EHF Champions League via the ‘Wildcard’ Tournament alongside Orlen Wisla Plock, Saint Raphael and BSV Silkeborg.
