Kadetten Schaffhausen sign young Croatian talent

Swiss champions, Kadetten Schaffhausen have signed three years contract with the biggest Croatian talent, 18 years old, Marko Mamic.

The two metre tall (201 cm) left back was officially voted the best Croatian player born in 1994.

He comes from Moslavina Kutina, where he made his professional breakthrough and gained vital senior experience.

“We are very satisfied that one of the most exciting players from Croatia is coming to our club. Marko has Croatian Premier League's experience, which is great for an 18 year old,” says Kadetten's manager, Peter Leutwyler.

Swiss handball fans will have opportunity to see Mamic at the U 18 European Championship in Austria, where he will play for Croatia against Switzerland in the Preliminary Round.

“I am very satisfied that Kadetten believes in me.

"This will be a real challenge for me. I am looking forward to playing in the Swiss Championship, but the most exciting will be playing in the VELUX EHF Champions League,” said the ‘wunderkind’ from Kutina at the official presentation.

Since David Graubner left the team (TV Grosswallstadt), Mamic will fight for the place in the "starting seven" along Christian Dissinger, who is three years his senior and one of the up-and-coming German players.

Dissinger was officially named MVP at WCh U20 in Greece last year and with domestic player, Ruben Schelbert, the future looks bright for Swiss champions.
