Russia win YAC European Beach Championship

The third edition of the Men’s U18 Beach Handball European Championship was staged in Georgia from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July.

Eight men's teams contested the title, with Russia winning the competition ahead of Turkey and defending champion Hungary.

The Russian team did not lose a game during the whole tournament.

On the final day, they won the quarter-final against Norway (2-0 ) and  the semi-final against Switzerland (2-0), who have won their quarter-finals against Ukraine (2-0).

Finally Russia win the final against the Turkish team (2-0).

On Friday, the Turkisg side lost a match against Russia (1-2) and on Saturday they were defeated by the Ukrainian squad (1-2) and the Hungarian (1-2).

But they won their quarter-final against Croatia (2-1) and their semi-final against Hungary (2-1) and are now runner-up of the Men’s U18 Beach Handball European Championship.

The bronze medal went to the defending champion Hungary. The Hungarian squad was the winner of their group on the first and on the second day.

They defeated the host, Georgia, in the quarter-final (2-0) but they lost in the semi-final against the silver medalist, Turkey (1-2). They won against the Swiss team in the game for the 3rd and 4th place (2-0).

The winners of these groups were again Hungary and Russia.
