More Brazilian reinforcements for Hypo NÖ

HYPO NÖ continues to rebuild its squad and introduces three more new Brazilian players for next season.

With pivot Fabiana "Dara" Diniz (31) and the universal backcourt player Mayara Fier de Moura, the circle of the Brazilian contingent at the Austrian champions increases.

Both field players were part of the National Team that came fifth at last year`s World Championship and they are both in the squad for the Olympic Games preparations.

The 1,84 meters tall Diniz signed for four years and will primarily help to put up a massive wall in the middle block of the defence, together with Austrian National Team player Gorica Acimovic and Brazilian team colleague Deonise Cavaleiro.

The strong performance in the national team and at her previous club Spanish Bera Bera prove beyond doubt that Diniz will be a tremendous gain for Hypo NÖ.

Coach András Németh: "At the World Cup in December she impressed me, especially in defence. Despite her age, she has great potential to improve her skills.”

Diniz is pleased with her commitment to HYPO: "The club has an impressive history, which will mean a big responsibility for me. I hope I'll settle in quickly. I aim with my new club to go as far as possible in the EHF Champions League."

The 25-year-old left-hander Mayara is used to playing the right-back and centre-back positions and will play together with Ana Paula Rodrigues in a strong axis.

Németh: "She is a tactically clever player, and with her we will be now more varied in attack."

Mayara: "I’m very pleased to play with so many Brazilian players. I’m particularly pleased with the club as it has a very good reputation on the European handball scene."

Third of the new signings is the 22-year-old left-back Karoline de Souza. She has played 1.5 years at Siófok, the bronze medalist of the strong Hungarian league.

Karol: “The change comes at just the right time. As a young athlete, I would like to learn a lot from an experienced coach like András."

Coach Németh spoke about his third new signing: "I’ve followed her for a long time and I consider her to be the best player among the ex-Brazilians in Siófok. There she didn´t achieve the desired development, but with a lot of hard work, she can prove her talent at Hypo.”
