Roberto Garcia will play in Cologne
The right wing of Atlético de Madrid, Roberto García, has passed a fitness test and will play at the VELUX EHF FINAL4.
He has had a thigh injury, which has kept him out of the Spanish side for the past two months.
García, who was injured during the VELUX EHF Champions League match against Kadetten Schaffhausen, on 24th March in Madrid, returned to the courts on Saturday in the Spanish league match between Atlético and Amaya Sport San Antonio.
"I'm very happy,” the player said after the match. “I feel good and my injury wasn’t a problem.”
Good news for coach Talant Dujshebaev, who can count on a key player in Cologne in the defensive system of the red and white team, although, as Garcia admitted, he will not be hundred percent fit.
"I've not been able to train for seven weeks and feel the lack of matches. I'm not at 100 percent, but I'll try do everything I can for help the team in the VELUX EHF FINAL4,” he said.
Atletico Madrid will face with AG Kobenhavn in the semi-final, a match that will be "very hard" for both teams according to Garcia.
"It will be a tough match. One match that will be very tight to the end, because AG Kobenhavn is a very strong team, as we saw in Quarter-finals with Barcelona Intersport," said García.
"The Danes play very well as team, and have a team play that allows them to attack all defences they face"
"They have players like Hansen and Stefansson, possibly two of the most important players in the team,” he said. “They have excellents wingers, very good line-players and a great goalkeeper.
“All of them are world-class players," said García.
