Fernández aims for perfect end to the season

Atlético de Madrid line player Edu Fernández cannot hide his delight at playing in his first EHF VELUX FINAL4, in which the Spanish team is expected to take a victory and bring a perfect season to a close.

ehfCL.com: You played in the VELUX EHF Champions League with Cuatro Rayas Valladolid, but this will be your first time playing in the EHF VELUX FINAL4. How are preparations going?

Edu Fernández: The quarter-finals against Cimos Koper were very tough, but I'm very excited about the VELXU EHF FINAL4. I’m really looking forward to going to Cologne and living the atmosphere of a VELUX EHF FINAL4, although we know that the semi final against AG Kobenhavn will be very difficult.

ehfCL.com: What's your opinion of AG Kobenhavn?

Edu Fernández: They are a very complete team. They has a very compact 6-0 defence, a fast counter-attack and in attack they have players like Olafur Stefansson, Arnor Atlason or Mikkel Hansen, who in addition to moving very well the ball are also very good shooters.

ehfCL.com: Do they have any weaknesses?

Edu Fernández: In the VELUX EHF FINAL4 all the teams are very strong and the weak points are minimal. But we'll study AG Kobenhavn to try to find them.

ehfCL.com: Which player do you think stands out for AG Kobenhavn?

Edu Fernández: Olafur Stefansson is a world-class player. He makes the team play, scores goals, defends, is a very complete player. He is - along with Mikkel Hansen - the soul of AG Kobenhavn.

ehfCL.com: How has Edu Fernandez changed this season?

Edu Fernández: The assimilation of play systems has been relatively easy. When you surround yourself with world class team-mates everything is easier, because they have an exceptional level.

ehfCL.com: What would it mean for you to win the VELUX EHF Champions League?

Edu Fernández: It would be the perfect ending to a very good season, which we hope will be outstanding.
