EHF EURO 2012 draw procedure released

The EHF has released the draw procedure fort he EHF EURO 2012 draw, which will take place in Rotterdam on Wednesday 6 June 2012 at 2.00 pm.

The draw will be made with 16 teams, with five teams already known. Norway qualifies as defending champion and the Netherlands as organiser of the event. Croatia, Czech Republic and Sweden have already qualified from their respective groups.

The participating teams are seeded on the basis for their performance in the qualification groups and at EHF EURO 2010.

Pot 1: NOR plus first ranked teams of qualification groups
Pot 2: Netherlands plus the first ranked teams of the qualification groups
Pot 3: One first and three second ranked teams of qualifications groups
Pot 4: Second ranked teams of the qualification groups

Pot 4 will be drawn first to row 4, pot 3 to row 3, post 2 to row 2 and pot 1 to row 1.

The EHF EURO 2012 Final Tournament will take place from 4 to 16 December 2012, with the preliminary and main rounds taking place in Apeldoorn and Masstricht and the final weekend in Rotterdam.
