Reactions from the Mixed Zone

"Budućnost are the new Champions, Budućnost are the new Champions!" sung the players of Budućnost in the players tunnel of the Morača Hall, while they were waiting to be called back out to go on court to receive their medals and trophy.

“I do not know what to say, this was a game we have been preparing for, for many years," said Buducnost player Radmila Miljanić to ehfCL.com. "This finally a dream came true, I'm really happy. I am really proud of my team-mates, the fans, the people who believed in us, the coaching staff, I love them all...The deal was not to look at the scoreboard, not to take care about the result and just give everything. At the end everything was fantastic", continued the player who scored seven goals from eight attempts in the match.

As she announced before the match, Katarina Bulatović played a much better game in second leg than in the Veszprém Arena and was top scorer for Buducnost in the match with nine goals.

"The EHF Women's Champions League trophy will remain in Podgorica for the next year, for a longer time we will see," said Bulatović. "It was a difficult final, as expected. It would be better if the win was easier, but in this way is sweeter."

Ana Đokić perhaps scored the decisive goal, a minute and 17 seconds before the end, when she scored to make it 27:24 in the counterattack, after Györi Audi ETO KC lost the ball in attack.

"In that action I had to score, I knew I had to give 100% to score," said the former Györi Audi ETO KC player Đokić. "We were convinced that no one could get the trophy from us in the Morača Hall. I'm sorry to see the players of Györi Audi ETO KC sad, but that's sport. I prefer to be the one who celebrates. I think that we are not even aware that we are the best in Europe".

"It wasn't as hard as we expected as before the first game we said that there will be no great goal difference, that there wouldn't be a five or ten goals lead. Simply, small things decided the final", added Đokić.

Without doubt, Buducnost's German goalkeeper Clara Woltering was one of the most deserving for the title.

"This is certainly the most beautiful day of my life. I am proud of the team, of all the hard work of this year, which has paid off. This is fantastic.

"After the first match we knew that we can do better, and we showed that. In the first half we couldn't get more then two goals diference. That was our problem in the game. But, when we managed to have three, four goals lead, we knew this is our day", she added.

Buducnost's Middle back Anđela Bulatović left the court with tears in her eyes following the final buzzer.

"Thank you everybody, the crowd was unbelievable, we were incredible," she said. "I think still we are not aware of everything. We will need to let the emotions settle, to slip over, and then we will be able to celebrate in the right way", she added.

Ana Radović added that "finally, after eight years of playing in the Budućnost I have won the EHF Women's Champions League trophy".

"The most important thing is that we won the trophy. I congratulate all my team-mates, we gave our best. Thank to our fans who supported us brilliantly, they were phenomenal. We have three days to celebrate and enjoy until we start to prepare Olympic qualification tournament in Lyon".

Of course, there was a big disappointment in the Györi Audi ETO KC camp.

"We lost the final in the worst possible way," Andrea Lekić told ehfCL.com. "This is the worst defeat of my life. We had a bad end of the game, we played anxiously, nervously, Budućnost had better luck. But this game showed how much equal are the two teams. I congratulate them",

Györ's goalkeeper Katalin Palinger was playing her last game in the career, and had 10 saves after 10 minutes, when she replaced Katrine Lunde Haraldsen.

"I am very disappointed because we got a win by two goals at home, and lost with the same goal difference. We had no luck. Now I only regret that we did not keep the five differences that we had in the first match. But this is a handball", said Palinger to ehfCL.com.
