Spanish pivot signs one-year contract with Kobenhavn
AGK sign Carlos Prieto
After Rene Toft Hansen had announced that he is changing to THW Kiel next season, his current club AG Kobenhavn had found a successor for the pivot.
Just hours before their VELUX EHF Champions League quarter finals against FC Barcelona Intersport, the Danish champions confirmed the signature of 32-year-old Carlos Prieto.
The Spanish international arrives from German side Bergischer HC and had played in the VELUX EHF Champions League for Barcelona, Ciudad Real, Valladolid, Rhein Neckar Löwen and RK Celje in Slovenia. Prieto signed a contract for one year with the option of an extension for an additional season.
After a medical examination on Friday morning he will be presented just before the clash against Barcelona in the Parken football stadium.
“I am very happy,” Prieto said to the Spanish news agency EFE. “AGK are a team which is doing very well, a team which is being strengthened with the intent to fight for every title and that is always motivating.
Prieto will be team-mates with another Spaniard at AGK: Cristian Malmagro – and a huge number of AGK players like Boldsen, Hansen, Hvidt or Stefansson had played in Spain and know the language.
