EHF Men's 20 European Championship – Qualification Round

Following the qualification draw which took place at the EHF 20th Anniversary event in Vienna, Austria on 18 November 2011, this weekend (Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 April) will see 29 teams compete to qualify for the EHF Men's 20 European Championship Final Tournament taking place in the Ankara Arena, Ankara and the Besyo Hall in Eskisehir, Turkey between 5 and 15 July 2012.

Sixteen teams will battle for the title, with three nations already directly qualified: hosts Turkey, Croatia and Spain – winners and runners-up of the EHF Men's 18 European Championship 2010 respectively.

13 teams will qualify this weekend and alongside Turkey, Croatia and Spain will go into the final tournament draw which will take place at the EHF Headquarters in Vienna, Austria on Friday 13 April.

A total of 32 teams have entered the tournament (including the three directly-qualified teams) and the qualification is divided into five groups of four teams and three groups of three teams.

The 13 teams who qualify will consist of the top two teams from Groups 1-5 and the top team from Groups 6-8.

The qualification matches for the EHF Men's 20 European Championship will be played in the form of tournaments at one venue (Denmark in three venues).
