New video seeks to develop common line

The International and European Handball Federation’s have agreed to work together to develop a common line on refereeing in beach handball.

Following a joint meeting of IHF Beach Handball Working Group and the EHF Beach Handball Commission, in Basel in October 2011, the first step in this cooperation has been the creation of the ‘IHF / EHF Beach Handball Referee Instructional Video’.

The aim of the video is to providing a training tool for officials and to develop a common line on the interpretation of crucial areas of the games such as in-flight goals, spin shots and red card situations.

The clips from the first video have been taken from the 2011 European Beach Handball Championships in Umag, Croatia.

It is planned that future video updates will incorporate clips from both EHF and IHF beach handball events, such as the Beach Handball World Championships, which will take place in Oman from 8 to 13 July 2012.

The complete IHF / EHF Beach Handball Referee Instructional Video can be watched via this link.
