VELUX EHF Champions League quarter-final first leg moved to Friday 20 April.
AG København vs. FC Barcelona Intersport rescheduled
In co-operation with the two teams and the rights-holding TV stations in Denmark and Spain, the European Handball Federation (EHF) has decided that the VELUX EHF Champions League quarter-final first leg match between AG København and FC Barcelona Intersport is to be played on Friday 20 April at 20:10 hrs (local time).
The decision has been made due to the EHF receiving a wide range of international media requests for broadcasting the match, provided that the timing does not conflict with the Spanish La Liga football match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid that is likely to be played on the evening of Saturday 21 April.
The EHF would like to capitalise on the international interest in the VELUX EHF Champions League game, which we believe will be possible by playing the match on the Friday night. The EHF has had a very constructive dialogue with the host club, AG København, and visitors FC Barcelona Intersport, the current title holders of the VELUX EHF Champions League.
Peter Vargo, EHF Marketing (EHFM) Managing Director said:
“The initiative taken by the host club AG København in presenting the VELUX EHF Champions League in front of a major auditorium in a football stadium is very much appreciated by the EHF and EHFM.
“This major European handball event is regarded as further proof of the positive development of the VELUX EHF Champions League in recent years.”
