Handball fans in Germany will be able to watch the first leg Last 16 match between Orlen Wisla Plock and THW Kiel on ehfTV.com
ehfTV.com to show live broadcast of Wisla Plock against THW Kiel
Due to a scheduling clash, the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 first leg match between Orlen Wisla Plock and THW Kiel will not be shown live on Eurosport in Germany.
Handball fans in Germany can however watch the encounter live on ehfTV.com.
Scheduling issues with the home venues of both Wisla Plock and THW Kiel have meant that the first leg of their Last 16 clash in Poland had to be scheduled for Wednesday 14 March 2012 at 20.00 hrs (CET).
At the same time Germany and Iceland will meet in a friendly match, which Eurosport is already contractually obliged to show live.
However, there is good news for handball fans with this top Last 16 clash to be shown on the European Handball Federation’s online television platform, ehfTV.com, where the top matches of the VELUX EHF Champions League can be watched live and on-demand throughout the season.
Peter Vargo, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, said: “To cater for handball fans in Germany, we have decided on this occasion to release Eurosport from their contractual obligation to show the match live. The game will now be available live on ehfTV.com.”
Eurosport in Germany will now show a highlights package from the Last 16 match after the national team friendly match has been played.
The first leg will be played on Wednesday 14 March 2012 at 20.00 hrs (CET) and shown live at ehfTV.com. The second leg is scheduled for Sunday 18 March in Kiel, Germany and will be broadcast live on Eurosport at 17:30 hrs.
