Last series of test matches

Only a few days to go until the start of the Men’s EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia – and all 16 participating nations will have test matches in the next few days.

Defending champions France will finish their preparations for Serbia with two final test matches against Norway on Tuesday (10th January in Toulouse) and Thursday (12th January in Paris-Bercy). The Scandinavians have just completed a series of two test matches against Egypt on home ground on 3rd and 4th January.

2010 runner-up Croatia is the host of an international tournament this weekend, which includes three EHF EURO 2012 participants. The host competes against Sweden, Slovakia and Iran from Friday to Sunday.

After returning home from Croatia the final Swedish rehearsal will be two test matches against Russia on 10th and 11th January in Malmö and Kristianstad.

Co-favourite for the EHF EURO title, Denmark, will be hosting a four-team tournament, played in Kolding, Herning and Aarhus from Friday until Sunday. All participants will be opponents at the EHF EURO: Denmark, Slovenia, Poland and Iceland.

In addition, Iceland will have their last test match against Finland on home ground on 13th January, as Denmark, Poland, and Slovenia finish their series of test matches after this tournament.

Germany will face Hungary, another EHF EURO participant, on Saturday (in Bremen) and Sunday (in Magdeburg) in the last stage of their preparation before travelling to Serbia. The Hungarians will compete with Bahrain in their last friendly on 12th January.

Spain is the organizer of a test tournament on the Island of Lanzarote from Friday until Sunday, when the host will meet two non-European teams, Tunisia and Argentina.

The Czech Republic is currently in a preparation camp at home, but on 9th January they will depart for Serbia for the last preparation sessions, including a final test against the EHF EURO host on 11th January. Before that game, the Serbs will face FYR Macedonia on 8th January.
