Support from the bedside

Gifted right-winger Nora Mørk became one of the shining stars of her club Larvik last season. The Norwegians played impressively during the whole of that season and collected their first ever EHF Champions League title after beating Spanish Itxako in the final.

The 20-year-old Mørk contributed 68 goals to her club´s greatest-ever success, with great shooting efficiency from the back-court.

Unfortunately, the classy right-back suffered a knee injury and is currently recovering after a new operation. Therefore she won´t be able to help her colleagues at the coming weekend in the exciting match-up with Viborg that will decide a Main Round spot. Nevertheless, she is still following her side closely and shares her insight about the team, prior to this clash, with ehfCL.com.

ehfCL.com: How do you see Larvik's start in this season´s EHF Champions League?

Nora Mørk: We're number one in the group as we speak, but we had a slow beginning in October with a defeat against Viborg. Now we’ve got back on track again after the troubled start.

ehfCL.com: How do you see your chances of winning the Champions League this season?

Nora Mørk: Last season we played with a lot of pressure, because everyone expected us to take the trophy. This season people don’t expect us to take the trophy. It's not like a "walk in the park" to go all the way.

I do believe that we can go all the way and take the trophy, but this season we're more like in a challenger role. Our first goal is to get to the Main Round and things seem very good for this right now.

ehfCL.com: You're not playing because of injury and it’s the same for several other players in your team. What is the situation like at Larvik right now?

Nora Mørk: We've been vulnerable to injuries and have had many of them this autumn. I've just had my second surgery for ‘jumper’s knee’ and things are going well, but I'll not be able to play before Christmas.

ehfCL.com: In the upcoming round of the EHF Champions League the Danish runner-up Viborg are visiting Larvik. How do you see your side´s chances in this match?

Nora Mørk: They will be without Isabelle Gulldén, one of the best playmakers in the world, but they still have great players in Rikke Skov and Grit Jurack, so it's going to be a tough match.

We had some problems with Viborg in our first round game, but at the same moment we have some great statistics for our home matches in the Arena Larvik. I think the girls are ready for revenge after the first loss, and I think we’ll win this important duel.
