Seven of the 24 participants for London 2012 Olympic Handball are known.
 

Korea, Brazil and Argentina Qualify for London 2012

Three more participants of the London 2012 Women's Olympic Handball Tournament are known; the Korean and Brazilian women and the Argentine men have booked their tickets at the respective continental qualification tournaments.

Argentina beat Brazil in the final of the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, 26:23 (15:14), as - in the same final constellation at the women’s tournament - the Brazilian women had beaten Argentina 33:15 (15:5) in Guadalajara.

The Korean women won over Japan in the final of the Asian Olympics Qualification in Changzhou, China, 27:22 (10:11).Currently the Asian men are competing for the participant in London at the Qualification tournament in Seoul, Korea.

Teams have already qualified for the Olympic Games in London:

Men’s Tournament:
Already qualified: Great Britain (Hosts), France (World Champions), Argentina (Pan America).

After the tournament in Seoul the next decisions will be taken in Serbia (EHF EURO) and Morocco (African Championships) – both Gold medallists will qualify for London.

Those teams have already qualified for the Olympics Qualification Tournaments in April 2012: Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Iceland, Hungary, Brazil, Chile.

Two more places for the Qualifications tournaments are reserved for the two best ranked teams at the EHF EURO in Serbia for those teams which have not qualified for either the Olympics or those tournaments.

Women’s Tournament:
Already qualified: Great Britain (host), Norway (EURO champions), Korea (Asia), Brazil (Pan America).

The next decisions will be taken in Brazil (World Championships) and Morocco (African Championships) – both Gold medallists will qualify directly for London. The six best ranked teams of the World Championship, which have not been qualified directly for London or the Qualification Tournaments book their tickets for those tournaments in May 2012.

Those teams have already qualified for the Olympics Qualification Tournaments in May: Japan, Argentina.

The two allocated places for Europe will be given to the teams, which have not qualified neither for Olympics nor for the Qualification tournaments due to their ranking at the EHF Women’s EURO 2010 in Denmark/Norway.
