Tyrolean holiday destination extends partnership with VELUX EHF Champions League.

Zillertal Tourist Agency is to extend its partnership with EHF Marketing GmbH, the daughter-company and marketing arm of the European Handball Federation. The Tyrolean holiday destination has been a partner of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 for the past two seasons.

The one-year partnership agreement will see the Zillertal destination promoted through the VELUX EHF Champions League on perimeter advertising boards, goal advertising, marketing materials and backdrops as well as on the competition’s official websites, ehfCL.com and ehfFINAL4.com.

There is also good news for handball fans travelling to VELUX EHF FINAL4 in May 2012, the agreement sees the return of the Zillertal Tourist Agency to Cologne and the two-day event, where they will once again be present with the Zillertal entertainment truck in the LANXESS arena ‘Fan Zone’.

The promotion of the Zillertal brand will focus in particular on the Scandinavian market, with Zillertal becoming a “Regional Premium Partner” of the VELUX EHF Champions League. The brand will be promoted in the matches of the Swedish team, IK Sävehof, and the Danish teams AG Kobenhavn and Bjerringbro-Silkeborg.

Peter Vargo, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH said: “I am delighted that the success of Zillertal’s involvement at the VELUX EHF FINAL4 event has now led to an extension of the partnership. We have an extremely strong presence in Scandinavia and can offer our partners a high level of brand exposure in these key markets.”

Gernot Paesold, CEO of the Zillertal Tourist Agency, commented: “Our experience in Cologne at the VELUX EHF FINAL4 over the last two years has shown us that our involvement in the VELUX EHF Champions League enables us to reach our target market – sports minded family-people, looking for an exciting and active holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of the Alps.

“The new partnership with the VELUX EHF Champions League, especially with the focus on Scandinavia, a very important market for us, will enable us to further promote our destination to handball fans and on a much larger scale.”
