Panetolikos AS withdraw from European Cup

After having registered for the 2011/2012 Women's Challenge Cup in June 2011, the club Panetolikos AS (GRE) officially informed the EHF on 15 September 2011 that they have to withdraw from the competition.

The Greek club should have played the first round of the competition on the upcoming weekend, 30 September to 2 October 2011.

This round is played in two tournaments, and Panetolikos were drawn into the one taking place in Oliveira do Bairro/Portugal together with RK Zelina (CRO), Alavarium (POR) and Olympia HC (ENG).

Legal proceedings against the Greek club have been officially opened by the EHF Court of Handball, upon a respective claim of the EHF. The proceedings are currently pending.
