The second edition of the European Masters Games is in full swing in Lignano Sabbiadoro (ITA) since 10 September 2011.

The event featuring 20 sport disciplines showcased and 3591 registered entrants will conclude on 20 September 2011.

The handball competitions of the 2011 European Masters Handball Championships for Men and Women are among the largest of the events. Between 13 and 18 September 2011, 32 teams across four age categories are participating.

All matches will be played in two indoor venues, Palazzetto dello Sport in Latisana and in PalaCus, Udine.

In the first phase, the age classes Women 43+, Men 45+ and Men 50+ were played out between 13 and 15 September 2011.

TV coverage

The 3/4 Placement Match of Men’s +45 was broadcast live on Sky Sport Italy. Also clips from the final – including the thriller finale with the game-winning goal if the Italians only 8 seconds before the final whistle – were shown.

Two remaining age classes

Following the first three age classes, the remaining tournaments for women 33+ and men 35+ will be carried out from 15 to 18 September 2011.
