The preparation for the EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia will take place from 2 to 4 September 2011 in Vienna, Austria.
2011 EHF Referee Seminar
The EHF is in full swing of preparing the various events during the 2011/12 season, especially the Men’s EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia. All qualification matches are concluded and the draw for the final tournament took place in Belgrade on 15 June 2011.
The Referee Seminar will take place on the weekend of 2 to 4 September 2011 in the EHF Office in Vienna (AUT) and focus on the EHF Euro 2012 in Serbia. It will serve as a kick-off event for the preparation of the referees for the major tournament in January next year.
The seminar will be held with 15 couples, out of which the 12 couples for Serbia will be selected. These twelve couples will be confirmed at the end of October 2011.

The extensive and exclusive seminar programme will include, amongst other major issues, the following key points:

Physical fitness assessment testing and follow-up programmes

Mental skills and methods (with emphasis on goal setting and "dead ball officiating")

Game management (video examples)

Pro-active discussions regarding primary points of conflict

New technologies in communication (head-set, etc.)

Stressing the importance of coherence in behaviour and actions
This will allow for informed and strategic handling of challenging situations, as well as augmenting the general ability to perform consistently.
