2011/12 Women’s Challenge Cup Draw Results

On Tuesday 26 July 2011 six competitions were drawn in the EHF Headquarters, Vienna (AUT). The draw decided the fixtures that form the first two rounds played in all six competitions.

The draw of the 2011/12 Women’s Challenge Cup was the first draw of the six to take place and was carried out by Mojca Petkovič, technical director of girls’ teams at the Slovenian club ZRK Krka Novo Mesto.

2011/12 Women’s Challenge Cup Round 2

In Round 2 eight teams will compete in two tournaments with four teams each. These two tournaments will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2011 with only the two winners proceeding in the competition.

Group A

  • KSS Kielce (POL)
  • Sokol Pisek (CZE)
  • ZRK "Zrinjski" Mostar (BIH)
  • HC Druts (BLR)

A separate draw gave ZRK Zrinjski Mostar (BIH) the right to organise the tournament. If this opportunity is not taken, the right is passed on to the next club in the following order: KSS Kielce (POL), Sokol Pisek (CZE) and then HC Druts (BLR).

Group B

  • Alavarium (POR)
  • RK Zelina (CRO)
  • Panetolikos A.C. (GRE)
  • Olympia HC (ENG)

A separate draw gave Panetolikos A.C. (GRE) the right to organise the tournament. If this opportunity is not taken, the right is passed on to the next club in the following order: Alavarium (POR), RK Zelina (CRO) and then Olympia HC (ENG).

2011/12 Women’s Challenge Cup Round 3

HC Dnepryanka Kherson (UKR) vs. A.C. PAOK Thessaloniki (GRE)
ZRK Knjaz Milos Arandjelovac (SRB) vs. ZRK Ilidza (BIH)
Winner Round 2 Group A vs. SSV Dornbirn Schoren (AUT)
Yellow Winterhur (SUI) vs. Egle-Sviesa Vilnius (LTU)
HC Victoria-Berestie (BLR) vs. Femina Vise (BEL)
Lokomotiva Zagreb (CRO) vs. Anadolu University S.C. (TUR)
HK Kopavogs (ISL) vs. Fleury Loiret Handball (FRA)
ABU Baku (AZE) vs. Winner Round 2 Group B

The first leg matches will be played on 5/6 November 2011, the second leg matches one week later on 12/13 November 2011. The eight winners proceed to the next stage, where they are put together with the eight top seeded teams in the Round of the Last 16. The fixtures will be drawn on Tuesday, 15 November 2011.
